From the initial consultation to discharge, every stage takes place at the same centre and with the same team.
Stage 1: Consultation
Initial consultation with the surgeon. Free of charge and with no obligation. In person in Sant Cugat or online.
Stage 2: Pre-operative assessment
Pre-operative tests. Dr Gutiérrez, Susanna and Cris coordinate the process and handle the administrative side of things.
Stage 3: Surgery
The procedure is carried out in the operating theatre under general anaesthetic. Dr Gutiérrez will perform the operation alongside the team.
Stage 4: Post-op admission
For procedures where this is required: one night in a private room and round-the-clock nursing care.
Stage 5: Discharge and follow-up
You will be discharged when the medical team deems it appropriate. Follow-up care continues for up to 12 months after your procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is admission included in the price?
Yes. The price includes general anaesthesia, use of the operating theatre and one night’s stay in a private room. A written quote is provided before the procedure.
Can someone come with me when I’m admitted?
Yes. It is a single room and has a bed for a companion on the night of admission.
Where do the consultations take place?
The initial assessment can take place in person at IM Gournary in Sant Cugat del Vallès or via an online video consultation. All procedures are always carried out at IM Gournary.
What type of anaesthetic is used, and who administers it?
Facial surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia, administered by an anaesthetist. The patient is monitored in the recovery room within the same centre before being taken to their ward.
Are the facilities designed by ARQÉA?
No. ARQÉA is a facial surgery unit operating from IM Gournay, a hospital in Sant Cugat del Vallès. Operating within an already-equipped hospital, rather than building and maintaining our own clinic, keeps our organisational structure lean. These savings are not passed on to the patient’s bill.
How do I get to IM Gournay?
