Bimaxillary correction with integrated genioplasty to treat the overall facial profile in cases of severe retrognathia with a lack of chin projection. The chin is corrected in the same plane as the occlusion, without the need for additional procedures. Includes a one-night stay.

Mentoplasty
Repositioning of the chin bone via osteotomy to correct microgenia, a receding chin or asymmetry of the chin axis. The bone segment is advanced, retracted or levelled according to the treatment plan and fixed in place with a titanium plate. The procedure is performed on the patient’s own bone, without implants, using an intraoral approach and leaving no visible scar.

Surgery at IM Gournay
Dr Gutiérrez personally performs every procedure at IM Gournay in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona. There are no trainees carrying out procedures, and there are no surprises. A planning process using bespoke cutting guides is employed for all maxillofacial surgery.

What exactly does the price of the FFS at ARQÉA include?
All ARQÉA prices include surgical fees, general anaesthesia, use of the operating theatre at IM Gournay and clinical supplies. For procedures requiring an overnight stay (such as forehead feminisation), the cost of one night’s hospital stay is also included. There is no consultation fee: the medical assessment with Dr Gutiérrez is free of charge in all cases. The final quote is always provided in writing following the consultation.
Can several FFS procedures be combined in a single operation?
Yes. Combining procedures in a single session is clinically safe, more cost-effective and reduces the overall recovery time. At ARQÉA, it is possible to carry out up to three major procedures in a single session: forehead, jaw/chin and trachea, for example, with a package available from €16,000. Dr Gutiérrez determines which procedures to combine and in what order during the assessment consultation, based on each patient’s anatomical profile and objectives.

Do I need to have orthodontic treatment before undergoing orthognathic surgery?
In most cases of bimaxillary or monomaxillary orthognathic surgery, a period of prior orthodontic preparation is required (usually between 12 and 18 months). This phase serves to alter the position of the teeth and ensure that they fit correctly following the surgical repositioning of the jaws. At ARQÉA, surgical planning is coordinated from the outset with the patient’s orthodontist.
What is facial masculinisation?
Facial masculinisation (FMS) is the set of surgical procedures aimed at creating a facial morphology with conventionally masculine features: more pronounced jaw angles, a square and prominent chin, cheekbones with greater lateral projection, and an overall more angular volume. Unlike feminisation, it focuses on structures that add volume, definition and contour, rather than reduction.
What happens if I need a follow-up operation after the surgery?
ARQÉA includes reoperation cover in all its procedures. Although the rate is minimal in percentage terms, if, for justified clinical reasons, the result requires correction, the costs associated with that second operation are covered. This is our guarantee that no patient is left to cope alone or faces financial hardship in the event of a genuine complication.
